Addictions & Substance Abuse Counseling

Two of our therapists, Theresa and Lydia, have specialized training, certification, and licensure in substance abuse recovery.

You know that things need to change. You realize that your choices are damaging your relationships, your opportunities, your life. The decision to break old habits is a huge one, and can feel overwhelming on your own. When you are ready to unlock the tools for lasting change, the support and accountability of a therapist is key. We help you explore the roots of addictive behavior with compassion. We walk alongside you without judgment.

There can be many layers of emotional pain along the journey to break addictive patterns:

Freedom from addiction through counseling at Grace Behavioral Health
  • Anxiety

  • Depression

  • Anger

  • Guilt

  • Shame

  • Loneliness

  • Facing old wounds

  • Low self esteem

  • Feeling lost, overwhelmed, or helpless

Our therapists provide the safe space you need to explore and organize these feelings, and address them as you feel ready. We’re here to help you unload the heavy burdens that have caused addictions and bad habits to form in the first place. We encourage you to attend meetings like AA, NA, and others in the community so that you connect with others walking a similar path.

Outpatient counseling for substance abuse or addictive behavior is right for individuals who are stepping down from an inpatient detox hospitalization or intensive outpatient program. Outpatient counseling may also be a good fit for those who don’t require inpatient care as a first step. We can help you assess what level of care you need right now. Drop us a line, and take the first step toward breaking free!
