Family Issues

Divorce, remarriage, blended families, loss, and adoption are situations that involve plenty of adjustment and lots of challenges. When your family is going through a major transition, you may wish for therapeutic support to help you manage all of the changes and emotions. Therapy for family issues can be just for you as an individual, or may involve multiple family members if you wish.

Our therapists understand that any major family transition involves loss, grief, and emotional adjustment as well as looking forward to what the next chapter may hold.

Theresa Butler, LPC, NCC specializes in adoption and reunification, and knows how hard it can be to find trusted, knowledgeable support for adoption issues. Theresa’s specialization with couples also extends into the areas of navigating separation, divorce, and blended families.

Lillian Babcock, LPC works with children and teens going through difficult family issues, as does our intern, Bonnie Jantzen. Our therapists recognize the importance of teaching kids coping skills, giving them a space to work through big feelings, and strengthening the family system around them - especially when everyone’s adjusting to a “new normal”.
