Abigail Koceniak, MA

Counseling Intern

Abigail Koceniak, MA, is a Counseling Intern working closely under supervision with Dr. Pearce. Abby comes to us with a Masters of Arts in Forensic Psychology, and is now completing the Masters of Clinical Mental Health Counseling program at New Haven University. Abigail’s professional background is in forensic evaluation, conducting assessments with individuals for legal and custody purposes. As she joins the Grace Behavioral Health team, Abby is now eager to expand her skillset to provide the care and treatment that, in the past, she was only able to recommend to those she evaluated.

Abby brings a natural enthusiasm and understanding to her connection with clients. She looks forward to integrating Biblical knowledge and faith-centered interventions for those who desire it. Like all therapists at GBH, Abby works with clients of all faiths and backgrounds.

Clients will benefit from Abby’s supportive presence and her tailoring of treatment to their specific needs through supervision and ongoing training and research. Clients will receive the most up-to-date, evidence-based approaches as Abby both works with Dr. Pearce’s specialties involving trauma and abuse recovery, perinatal mental health, polyvagal (nervous system)-focused healing, and more; and cultivates her own areas of expertise through training opportunities and client-centered research.

We are proud to have Abby with us at Grace Behavioral Health to offer a cost-effective treatment option as she completes her degree and licensure requirements. Abby looks forward to expanding her repertoire of skills and treatment specialties as she works with clients of all ages and backgrounds.
